Dear Wildlife Rehabilitator, |

Spring is here! We hope you've been enjoying the beautiful weather before baby animals begin to arrive at your intake desk! Mother's Day is in spring, too (it's not a coincidence) and this year we offer you a last-chance getaway before all the babies arrive. This Mother's Day weekend CCWR is hosting a North Country Conference in Redding at the Turtle Bay Exploration Park, with activities for all ages – and the talks and labs you've been asking for! Reasonably-priced dog-friendly hotels in the area make the whole family welcome! Redding is centrally located for both Northern California and Southern Oregon. If you have contacts in these areas, please forward this email to help us let them know about this opportunity. Everyone can register online through PayPal and your credit card. |

North Country Conference in Redding May 8-9Mark your calendar for May 8-9 at the Turtle Bay Exploration Park in Redding. Dr. Rebecca Duerr will facilitate the hands-on labs that were so popular in Pismo Beach last fall and you won't want to miss the talk on Vitamins and Nutritional Supplements she presented at the NWRA Conference in Seattle. Registration costs are just $45.00 (with a discount for CCWR members!) for two days of talks and workshops, including the much-requested Hand-raising Passerines by Veronica Bowers. Veronica has also prepared a new talk on Preparing Passerines for Release in response to requests at Pismo Beach. Visit our Schedule of Events and plan to have lunch in the Café at Turtle Bay where you can network with friends, speakers and fellow CCWR members. |

Good News and Bad NewsThe good news is that you're a member of the largest, most active state organization in the country! The bad news is that CCWR membership dues have increased for the first time in more than 10 years. There's more good news, too. First, if you recently received a membership renewal in the mail, you can still take advantage of the old rates by mailing it in right now. Your next reminder will reflect the new rates. The other good news is that if someone who is not a member would like to join us in Redding, the cost to join is still only an additional $3 over the non-member rate for the North Country Conference. |
Yosemite SymposiumPlans for the CCWR 16th Annual Symposium in Yosemite this November are under way, with new speakers and topics from your fellow professionals as well as veterinarians who specialize in wildlife. Mark your calendar for November 19-21! Invitation to Present in YosemitePlease consider sharing your experience and knowledge with your fellow rehabilitators at our Symposium in Yosemite. CCWR invites you to participate as a paper/lecture presenter, interactive workshop instructor, or roundtable discussion facilitator. Deadline for applications is May 15, so hurry! |

Looking for Resources? Why reinvent the wheel? Your fellow wildlife rehabilitators have shared a number of resources you are free to use and adapt to help you manage your organization, clients, and members of the public. These include a letter to Tree trimmers in English and Spanish, a poster to help people Prevent Bird Problems, a letter to veterinarians outlining what to do when people bring them wild animals, and much more. |
