CCWR ACTION ALERT: 12th Annual CCWR Symposium Next
Weekend!
Just a reminder that the 12th Annual California Council for Wildlife
Rehabilitators symposium will be next weekend, Saturday, August 26.
The one-day symposium will be hosted by The Living Desert and will be held at
their facility in Palm Desert (Region 6). Plan on staying an extra day or so to
explore the Zoo and Gardens at a discounted price or enjoy other local
attractions.
This year the symposium will start off with a presentation by Bob Miller on the
Salton Sea Natural History. Dr. Todd Cecil will review some case studies
including turtle shell repair and aspergillosis lesion treatment. Nicole Carion,
California Department of Fish and Game Wildlife Division, will give an update on
regulation changes and answer questions. Additional topics will include
Tortoises and Turtles, Education Programs and Herons and Egrets, and Squirrels.
This symposium will fulfill eight hours of continuing education training
requirements under California Department of Fish and Game, and includes a
catered lunch.
Immediately after the symposium on Saturday we will be having an ice cream social and raffle - please join us for the fun!
In addition to the symposium, CCWR will also be hosting IWRC's Wildlife Feeding and Nutrition Class on Sunday, August 27. Registration for the class is now open on the IWRC website.
A $10.00 late fee will be applied to registration forms received after August 12. Members registration fee is $60.00, Non-Members $75.00, Non-Member joining at time of registration $78.00.
Hope to see you there!
